The 100 Worst Movies of 2009

Why are my chatbox and links at the bottom of this page? Can someone enlighten me as to how to fix this problem. It has been irking me for weeks!

In case you are too lazy to open the link, here's the list of 100 WORST MOVIES OF 2009 lovingly and carefully typed in no particular order for your perusal:

2012 - I second the motion cos I've heard really awful reviews from my friends. Plus, it is not really my kind of genre.
12 Rounds
Beverly Hills Chihuahua - I actually watched this. Stumbled across it somewhere by coincidence. It was nothing worth mentioning and the Chihuahuas can get pretty annoying. And their owners too! The saving grace for this movie was the very brave German Shepard.
Chandni Chowk to China
Confessions of a Shopaholic - I personally disliked the character Becky Bloomwood after reading the novel.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - Shocked that this movie made it to the list. It was beautifully portrayed, so I thought. And Brad Pitt was spectacular. Alas, it strayed from the book heftily, which was really sad.
Doghouse
F***
Ghosts of Girlfriends Past - Okay. This one was so-so for me. It didn't leave a lasting impression. I couldn't feel the chemistry between Jen Garner and Matt McConaughey. Dialogues were blah. Jen Garner was quite sexy though.
Gigantic
Good
The Proposal - NOOOOOOOO. I love the combo of Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. But then again, I didn't sense that Ryan actually developed feelings for Sandra till almost the end. -.-
Public Enemies
The Reader - Very x-rated. Nuff said.
Revolutionary Road
The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2
Soi Cowboy
Telstar
Terminator Salvation
The Unborn
X-Men Origins: Wolverine - OBJECTION OBJECTION! The prequel was I thought, very cleverly thought of. It was not cliche and the ending was unpredictably good cos it connects to the reason why Wolverine is well, Wolverine! Anyway, who would say no to Hugh Jackman's drool-worthy rock hard muscles?
31 North 62 East
Hannah Montana: The Movie - Yes, laugh if you must cos I've watched this movie. Just to satisfy my curiosity. It was a feel-good movie, breezy and not to be taken seriously. Yet another teen flick.
Harry Brown
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - Okay I think this instalment was quite poorly executed. There was way too much focus on teenage angst and sexual chemistry. Ron looked better in this movie compared to the previous two.
Inglourious Basterds
The Informers
Land of the Lost
The Last House on the Left
Little Ashes
The Lovely Bones (I still want to watch this!)
Night at the Musuem 2 - Two word to sum this movie: Terrible and annoying. The first one was so much better and funnier.
Outlander
Aliens in the Attic
Amelia
Angels and Demons - I was surprised to see this movie in the list. It was not spectacular, but it was relatively good. They made a wise choice in making Ewan McGregor the Pope's right-hand man. Unexpected, but a wise choice, nevertheless.
Antichrist
Beautiful Losers
Beyond the Fire
The Boat that Rocked
Born in 68
Bride Wars - Deserves to be here I think. It was fickle and childish. Anne Hathaway may look beautiful and flawless but her acting fell short for this one.
Bright Star
The Broken
Couples Retreat - Oh dear, this one just tries tooooooo hard. The jokes weren't very smart or funny, they came across as plain lame. It also gets really gross at some parts. Kristin Davis, I'm so disappointed in you!
Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant
Clubbed
Dance Flick
Dead Man Running
Delta
Dragonball Evolution
Driving Aphrodite
Embodiment of Evil
Fast and Furious
Fired Up
Flash of Genius
French Film
Friday the 13th
G-Force
GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra
He's Just Not That Into You - I had really high hopes for this movie at first because of the strong cast; Scarlett Johansson, Ben Affleck, Jen Aniston... But it became a recipe for disaster, sadly. :(
Jack Said
Knowing
Lalapipo
Last Chance Harvey
Lesbian Vampire Killers
The Life Before Her Eyes
Mad, Sad and Bad
Marley and Me - Poignant and tugs at the heartstrings. I suppose it would only appeal to dog-lovers in general. My mum found Marley very annoying but I found him so sweet and endearing. And its really refreshing to see that this is not one of the yet-another-animal-voice-over-movie that is the trend today.
Martyrs
Mega Shark v. Giant Octopus
Mr. Right
My Sister's Keeper (I still want to watch this!)
New in Town
Not Easily Broken
Obssessed
Passchendaele
Paul Blart: Mall Cop
The Pink Panther 2
Push
The Red Baron
Red Mist
Reverb
Seven Pounds (I still have this movie in my hard disk, am having second thoughts whether I should watch or not. Hmmm...)
Shadows in the Sun
Sorority Row (I still wanna watch this! I've never seen Rumer Willis act!)
The Spell
The Spirit
Summer Scars
Surveillance
Taking Woodstock
Tormented
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - This was really boring, to me. Hope this doesn't offend the select few fans out there. *grins sheepishly* At least, Megan Fox was hot and Shia's mum was funny.
The Ugly Truth - OH NO! This movie was totally original. The dialogues were witty and catchy. Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler just NAILED their respective parts. I disagree with it ending up in this list! :<
The Unborn
Viva
Year One (I still wanna watch this!)
Miss March

Meanwhile...

Calling all musical fans! Another musical is coming out! Its titled Nine. Cast is fantastic with 3 Oscar winners to boot - Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, and Penelope Cruz (slurps). Kate Hudson and Daniel Day Lewis also stars. Being an avid fan of musicals, I can't wait to catch this one!

The entry above is entirely based on my own opinion, so yeah, just take it or leave it. I only comment about movies I've watched before (the ones in YELLOW highlight) except for 2012, which I haven't watched, but heard plenty of bad reviews. So, yeah, thats that.

Hmmm, before I end this long-ish post, don't forget to tell me how to fix my layout! Thanks!

<3,
Jessica

  1. There are several films on this list that should be on the top 100 for 2009, namely MARTYRS, SUMMER SCARS and ANTICHRIST
