Our 52nd National Day

Feel the Merdeka Spirit?

Not.

Last night, at the mall, I saw a man picking his nose.

While looking at a signboard educating the public on hygiene in light of the recent pandemic disease, that is H1N1.

Oh, the irony.

**********

I just had a dinner of a sinfully rich and delicious Opera Cake.

And. Bitter gourd fried with fermented beans.

Oh, the stark, stark contrast.

**********

I had TEH-C during breakfast and TEH-C SPECIAL during lunch.

And I had to crave for pearl MILK TEA after dinner.

Three types of milk tea in a day????

Mad.

(P/s: TT, I'm becoming a MILK TEA fan like you!)

**********

On an altogether different note, Yours Truly might just be back blogging on a more regular basis!

Reason, today was my last day of work!

It was a huge, huge relief to clear off every single piece of work that I have handled. Those which weren't because of their pending status, were handed over to another Colleague who will then do the neccessary and impending follow-up.

It was quite bittersweet, actually when I was about to leave. A huge chunk of me felt thoroughly satisfied and proud that I've successfully endured a 3 month period of work/attachment at one of the most stressful work places ever; while another part of me felt a tinge bit worried (being a little bit OC here) that my work wasn't as completely and entirely done as I had thought (OA, noooooooo....). I've also promised my Bosses that I would keep in touch. They even gave me an Angpow before I leave. It feels fantastic to be appreciated. It just warms me up.

Now that I am a newly unemployed person with the liberty to do anything as I wish, I shall invest my time and energy in "Me-time". Bet you wish you were me, eh? Hahaha.

This will not last too long though as I will start Uni again in a month or so. And I am countdown-ing to that day as of now! I am psyched to enter 2nd year and be reunited with Student life. The studying and assignment part will be stressful (not that it isn't foreseeable), but its a part and parcel of Student life and I shall embrace it willingly! :)

To sign off, it is Michael Jackson's birthday today and I do hope that justice will prevail and be sought for his death.

Riddle, riddle on the wall

Q: Where can you find fishes who paddle on a boat at sea?

Kudos to those who know the answer! :D

Have a great Sunday ahead!

Food or Foe?

...

I saw this at the frozen meat section at the local supermarket recently and I thought it looked grossly catchy.

A piece of mystery meat by the bizarre name of "Dried Japanese".

Hmm...

Now, will someone tell me what in the world is "Dried Japanese"??

MTV World Stage

I want to go to MTV World Stage! This event is making its debut live in Malaysia at Sunway Lagoon this coming August 15th and many really good bands are coming. Yums.

But air tix are so expensive and I am not willing to pay. Bah, humbug!

I'm so very jealous of Hui Li's cousin who won the tix by topping up her phone in college. What luck!! I even joined a slogan contest at http://www.mtvasia.com/worldstage/ but there is no answer/reply ast to my winning/losing to date. It has been a week after the closing date for submission. So I guess it means I didn't win. What are the chances of winning, anyway? Really slim I reckon. *dispirited face*

For those who are not enlightened about this event, check out for yourself at the above website.

Anyone going, please tell me how is it. Just rub it in my face, I really don't mind.

Yogalicious

I decided against blogging on Sat/Sun to reserve this post for my soon-to-be (hopefully) obsession.

YOGA!

And I just cannot resist posting this picture here. :D

Yogi Bear!

Of course, during my first day in class I went like this in some positions...

Tripping, stumbling. Literally. At least I tried.

I sweated bullets which was kinda grotesque, considering I haven't sweated that much since the Ice Age. Oh! Not forgetting the sheer heat wave and haze going on in Miri now that err... really heated things up.

*fills water gun with sweat and aims at you*

Ahem.

But bottom line, I really enjoyed the class. I was comforted to find that there are people who aren't pro too. Haha. Am going back to the studio on Wesnesday for another session of Yoga.

Anyone game for Yoga, join me at LoveYoga, if you please.

It has been tooooooooo long

Since I last updated my blog.

Much has been going on! Especially at work. Hence explaining the lack of updates cos I'd have to let the old, tired, bone-cracking, body rest after a gruelling (at times la) 8am-5pm schedule every weekday. Oh, and not forgetting 1st and 3rd Saturdays. My deepest apologies to you guys.

And having worked for 3 months already, I am going to stop at the end of this month. Having mixed feelings and thoughts about it though. The boss had kinda hinted that I would be real bored at home for the most part of Sept until the 24th of the same month, which is the date that I'll be going back to KL (take note, you-know-whos). I was happy and somewhat touched when she said to feel free to come back again next year during the hols.

Anyway, I do agree with boss. The idea of working is actually more appealing than just staying at home and doing basically... nothing of great importance. Guess I could do some manicure and baking. More me-time in other words. And hopping out of bed later in the day which is a relief. And of course, have more time and energy to update this blog! Haha. But the downside is inevitable if you're not at work:

1. High possibility of gaining weight

2. Boredom

3. More boredom

4. Aimless moping around.

In the meantime, I am actually enjoying my work tremendously. And I do mean tremendously. The satisfaction you get when you get your work done, when datelines are met, when the boss is pleased with your performance ever so slightly is just priceless. Gawd, it is even fun sometimes when you rush about getting things organised. The experience is just exciting and eye-opening.

I am currently working on something rather challenging (talking from a 1st year's point of view). I am helping my boss with a Bankruptcy case and I am working on the submission for it. I get to do a real submission. For her to use in the Court. *gulps* It is my biggest assignment to date and I am determined not to disappoint. Things have been smooth-sailing so far and I've put in a lot of thought and research into this and hoping to finalise everything with boss by next week. :) I found out also that the Lawyer for the Defendant is a Junior Lawyer. My boss, in a friendly telephone conversation with him, actually drifted off from their initial topic to ask how much experience did he had!!!!! He was nice about it and said he had had only 7 months experience as a Lawyer. 7 months and already doing an argumentative case in Court is pretty impressive if you ask me.

Nuff said about work. I have an annoucement to make!

I am going to be a Yogi!
:D
While toying with the idea of going for Yoga classes, I got myself a Yoga mat last month to start the ball rolling. For those of you who don't know, I have wanted to learn Pilates since about last year-ish. It is definitely too expensive to learn in KL (counting in transportation as well) and there isn't any place to learn in Miri. Darn. So I opted to go for the closest to Pilates, that is Yoga. I've already enrolled myself for the classes at a studio near my place and my first class will be this coming Monday. So looking forward to it! I do need the exercise.

I shall blog more on Saturday or Sunday. Bedtime soon cos am working half day tomorrow.
Stay tuned ya. :)
